The Ernest & Joan Trefz Family Foundation provided more than 600 infant sleep sacks to St. Vincent’s Family Birthing Center. These help keep babies warm without the suffocation risk of traditional blankets.
The Trefz Family Foundation has supported many initiatives and events at St. Vincent’s throughout the years. Joan Trefz made this generous gift on behalf of her family foundattion as she was a big fan of swaddling her own babies, in what she called “the old-fashioned way.” She loved the idea of being able to gift these adorable, easy to use, SAFE swaddles to those that choose to welcome their new bundles of joy at St. Vincent’s.
In fact, when news was carried throughout Hartford Healthcare about the swaddles, the leadership decided to make them available at every HHC Hospital in the system to all of our newest patients.
